Harlem Gospel: Sensitive Cuts
Written by Vember Judgement

Pg1
A great scene depicting Christ standing in the corner of a ghetto neighborhood, smoking a clove cigarette. The nightlife around him is bustling, hookers to his left, drug dealers to his right. God the Father's light shines over him, though he seems to be the only one who knows it's there. In the left foreground is his Harley Davidson.

Pg2
Panel 1: A side profile shot of Christ looking on in anger, as God the Father's light still shines down.

God the Father: It isn't safe amongst this sinful ravel.
Christ: It's only a wayward part of Harlem...You make it sound like this is Sodom.
God the Father: Don't talk back! Put that out and come home.

Panel 2: A shot of Christ's hand, as he tosses the cigarette away.

Christ: You know I can't come home yet. Not until I prove you wrong in our argument.
God the Father: Watch your tongue, boy. Do not forget who you are talking to.

Panel 3: A frontal upper bodied shot of Christ, putting his hands in his jacket pockets.

Christ: Why must you be so difficult about this? My only want is for the both of us to be more involved with humanity.

Panel 4: A shot of some drug dealers hustling across the street.

Christ: We've allowed them to stray too far from our light. Too many of them are being led strait to Hell.

Panel 5: A shot of God the Father's divine light shining down.

God the father: I've laid all that is needed for humanity to enter the kingdom. We should not be lulled into saving those already set in their path to the lake of fire.

Pg3
Panel 1: A shot of Christ holding out his arms in frustration.

Christ: But father, times on this earth are much different than when I last lived. Right and wrong is a total shade of gray now.
God the father: A poor excuse and nothing more.

Panel 2: A shot of Christ looking at the palms of his hands, staring at the crucifixion scars.

God the Father: I gave them miracles. I gave them the texts which to live by. I even gave them your life. By my estimation, they've been given quite enough.

Panel 3: An angled facial shot of Christ's face.

Christ: You're becoming a neglectful parent to your children, Father. You have to realize you're giving much leeway for Hell to amass too much power...

Panel 4: A shot of God the Father's light shining in a red tone.

God the Father: You can't possibly believe the lower realms could ever match up to our might. Hell will never conquer us, no matter how much evil they may have at their disposal.

Panel 5: A shot of Christ leaning against the wall, looking up at the light. He points up, as a passerby looks at him strangely.

Christ: Hey, you once thought angels would never rebel against you, and that has happened how many times now?

Panel 6: A shot of the light having become a dim blue.

Pg4
Panel 1: A shot of Amanda Doll walking down the street, wearing her massively slutty outfit. Many guys around her look on lustfully.

Panel 2: A shot of Christ putting on his shades as Amanda walks by.

Christ: I'm sorry Father, but I must be excused. That poor girl has the devil in her eyes...
God the Father: Do as you will, my son. But heed this...

Panel 3: A shot of the light over Christ dimming further.

God the Father: I do love them all, but they must find the path on their own. Otherwise, the humans will never appreciate the effort it takes to be in our good graces...

Panel 4: A full bodied shot of Christ walking away, as a bit of God the Father's light nearly dims completely in the background.

Christ: Talk to you later...

Pg5
Panel 1: A full bodied side shot of Amanda Doll fumbling with her house keys, standing in front of her apartment door. She is shivering from fear.

Amanda: Please don't be home, please don't be...

Panel 2: A shot of the door open, and standing in the middle of the hallway is Thomas, looking quite menacing. In his arms is Amanda's nameless baby, wailing from hunger.

Thomas: Where were you last night? You weren't where you were supposed to be.

Panel 3: A shot of Amanda closing the door behind her.

Amanda: I was at the house with the guys you set me up with, Thomas...Where else would I-

Panel 4: An action shot of Amanda being back fisted across the face.

Thomas: Lying whore!

Panel 5: A shot of Thomas screaming and pointing a finger, the baby resting limply in his left arm. The baby is wailing even louder.

Thomas: You were only with him half the night. Where were you in the rest of it?

Pg6
Panel 1: A shot of Amanda leaning against the front door, holding the left side of her face. A bruise is left on her face from Thomas' blow.

Amanda: I was...I-

Panel 2: A shot of Thomas turning his back on her.

Thomas: You were turning tricks behind my back again, right? Shit, the Hell I'm gonna do with you? Dumb bitch...

Panel 3: A full room shot of the living room. Thomas walks in, cradling the baby, as Amanda follows like a dog.

Thomas: Listen, you're supposed to be my ho! You ain't allowed to trick by yourself! You hear!?
Amanda: Yeah...I hear.

Panel 4: A shot of Amanda's baby being tossed into her arms abruptly.

Thomas: And I'm getting tired of this brat bastard waking me up all fucking night.

Panel 5: A quick shot of Thomas grabbing his book bag from the living room table.

Thomas: I got finals coming up, damn it!

Pg7
Panel 1: A shot of Thomas slinging the book bag over his shoulder.

Thomas: Listen, the deal is supposed to be simple. I keep your ass here, and in exchange you go out and fuck for money. My college bills need to be paid, and I'm tired of you not doing what I tell you to do.

Panel 2: A shot of the baby in Amanda's arms, crying.

Thomas: And I suggest you think of something to do with that little nameless bitch of yours. She continues to me off, and I'm selling her ass or dumping her in the trash.

Panel 3: A shot of Thomas walking down the hallway.

Thomas: Have this place cleaned and dinner ready when I get from class. I'll be back by 4 O'Clock. If you leave the apartment, I'll know about it. Don't go anywhere, no matter what.

Panel 4: A shot of Thomas looking over his shoulder.

Thomas: Oh yeah, tonight you're gonna be set up with four guys at once. I know you don't like multiples, but hey, cash is cash.

Panel 5: A shot of the door slamming shut.

Pg8
Panel 1: A shot of Amanda kneeling on the floor, holding her baby close to her chest, crying lightly.

Panel 2: A shot of Amanda placing the baby in a very dirty looking crib. The baby continues to wail.

Amanda: Shhh, I'll feed you, just stay quiet for mommy...

Panel 3: A shot inside of an near empty refrigerator. The only thing in there is an open can of pork and beans.

Panel 4: An upper bodied shot of Amanda holding the fridge door open, looking very defeated.

Panel 5: A quick shot of the huge pile of dirty dishes in the sink.

Panel 6: A quick shot of piles of dirty clothes on the floor.

Pg9
Panel 1: A frontal upper bodied shot of Amanda crying, with the panel focusing on the baby in the crib behind her.

Panel 2: A shot of a pan on the dirty stove, cooking the pork and beans.

Panel 3: A shot of Amanda trying to feed the beans to her baby from the pan, sitting on the living room couch.

Amanda: C'mon, eat it...

Panel 4: A shot of the baby spitting out a bean.

Panel 5: A shot of Amanda looking even more defeated.

Amanda: You don't like the food? I'm sorry.

Panel 6: A shot of Amanda looking to her left at the living room window.

Pg10
Panel 1:  A quick shot of Amanda opening the window.

Panel 2: A past shot of Amanda standing on her fire escape, holding her baby in her arms.

Panel 3: An overhead shot of Amanda peering over the side. She's six stories up.

Panel 4: An angled shot of Amanda holding the baby out on her hands, over the side of the fire escape. The perspective is from beneath the baby.

Panel 5: A shot of Amanda looking down at her baby.

Amanda: In Heaven you won't ever be hungry again...They got milk and honey up there...

Pg11
Panel 1: A shot of Christ sitting on the stairwell between Amanda's fire escape and the one above.

Christ: Is life so desperate for you and your child, Amanda? I should have come to you much sooner.

Panel 2: A shot of Amanda suddenly holding the baby close to her, looking over her shoulder at Christ.

Amanda: !

Panel 3: An upper bodied shot of Christ with his arms crossed.

Christ: Don't do it. Killing her will ensure a one way ticket to Hell. Your suffering will continue on for eternity there...

Panel 4: An upper bodied shot of Amanda looking very scared.

Amanda: I...I wasn't going to kill her...Who are you?

Panel 5: A sepia toned shot of Amanda in the past, when she was a seven year old girl. She is on her knees praying, as a ghostly image of Christ hovers over her.

Panel 6: A shot of Christ taking off his shades. A glow radiates from him.

Christ: Someone from your past.

Pg12
Panel 1: A shot of the two sitting on the couch. Amanda holds the baby close to her chest, sitting as far away from Christ as she can.

Panel 2: A shot of Amanda looking down at her baby.

Amanda: Are you really him? I mean, are you Je-

Panel 3: A shot of Christ sitting back, looking away from Amanda.

Christ: The small part of me left inside you knows who I am.

Panel 4: A shot of cloth diapers sprawled on the living room table.

Amanda: But it doesn't seem real...that you're here, sitting in my living room...
Christ: Why? What's so unbelievable?
Amanda: I used to always pray to you all the time, but you never came to help me. You never came.
Christ: I'm here now, aren't I?

Panel 5: A shot of Amanda angrily looking away from Christ.

Amanda: It's not fair! Ever since I was a kid, I wanted your help but things in my life just got so shitty! And now all of a sudden you want to come into my life!?

Pg13
Panel 1: A shot of the baby in Amanda's arms, tugging at her shirt and looking up at her. The baby seems concerned.

Amanda: My mom and dad die, I get raped by my cousin, then he makes me fuck other men and give him the money...I prayed to you before and after all that, and nothing changed...All that stuff in the bible is bullshit...

Panel 2: A shot of Christ leaning forward, placing a hand on Amanda's shoulder.

Christ: Hey there, calm down. You should never say such things. From now on, your life is going to get better.
Amanda: How!?

Panel 3: An angled 3/4 overhead shot of Christ getting up off the couch.

Christ: Well for starters, you need to get away from this cousin of yours and seek some help. You keep living under his shadow, you'll never find the happiness you want.

Panel 4: A shot of Amanda putting the baby to her side.

Amanda: Don't you think I've tried! He's like a monster, he won't let me go! He'll try to kill me!

Panel 5: A shot of Christ looking down at Amanda.

Christ: He's a weak man. The world around him makes him very afraid, and he does what he does to feel secure.
Amanda: But how can I get away from him?

Pg14
Panel 1: A shot of Christ grabbing her by the chin.

Christ: Don't worry about that. I'll be dealing with him.

Panel 2: A shot of Christ handing Amanda a card.

Christ: Here. I want you to go to this address. This is a church that will help you sort things out.

Panel 3: A quick shot of a digital clock, which reads "3:30pm"

Panel 4: A shot of Amanda putting on a jacket, looking on fearfully.

Amanda: Thomas is coming home soon...

Panel 5: A shot of Christ sitting on the couch again cradling the baby in his arms. The baby is giggling happily. Amanda is in the background, finished with putting on her jacket.

Christ: Don't worry about him anymore. You'll never see him again.
Baby: Giggle...
Amanda: What are you going to do with Thomas?

Pg15
Panel 1: A shot of Christ handing the baby over to Amanda.

Christ: Every person has a spark of God and goodness within them. which I'll help him find. If he won't see the light, then I'll just let him know what's waiting for him when he dies.

Panel 2: A shot of Christ noticing the baby grabbing his finger.

Christ: Don't want me to leave, huh? Don't blame you. By the way, she's almost a month old...Why haven't you named her?

Panel 3: An upper bodied shot of Amanda shrugging her shoulders.

Amanda: Her father was the first man I slept with for money. I...I didn't think I'd have her long enough to give her one.

Panel 4: A full bodied shot of Christ walking Amanda to the door.

Christ: Well I don't want to revel much about the future, but she has the potential to be a great person someday. All she needs is for your undying love and faith. Give her a great name that will match up to that.

Pg16
Panel 1: A shot of Amanda standing in the open door, holding the baby close.

Amanda: Okay...Thank you for finally coming...Thank you so much.

Panel 2: A shot of Christ holding the door open. A smirk is on his face.

Christ: It's what I do. Now go off into your new life.

Panel 3: A shot of Amanda walking down the hallway, with Christ watching her leave.

Christ: If you're ass had ever been to church, then maybe you'd know.

Panel 4: Action shot of Thomas punching Christ across his face.

Thomas: Don't know what the fuck you're talking about, but you better tell me where my ho is at!

Panel 5: A shot of Christ tilted away from punch. He is looking back very angrily. A red glow flashes around his head.

Pg18
Panel 1: A grand shot of Christ holding up Thomas off the ground by his throat. Thomas grasps at his hand, trying to unravel the grip. A small stream of blood trickles down Thomas' throat, from Christ's crucifixion wounds.

Christ: Let's get something strait buddy, you have the rest of your little life to stop living the sinful path! If you don't change your ways in that time, there won't be any way to revoke your ticket to Hell!
Thomas: The...Fuck!?

Panel 2: An action shot of Christ tossing Thomas against the wall.

Christ: To think you could do such terrible things to a mere child! She almost killed her baby because of the desperation you put in her!

Panel 3: A shot of Thomas crouched against the wall, holding his throat. He doesn't notice the blood on him. In the extreme left foreground is Christ's right hand, which blood is lightly streaming from the crucifixion scars.

Thomas: Where...is...she?
Christ: You will never see Amanda again. Ever. From here on out, you only concern is to devote the rest of your life to my father. He will be watching you closely after today.

Pg19
Panel 1: A shot of Christ bending down to look Thomas strait in the eyes. Blood seeps from both his hands.

Christ: You should praise the Lord that I have visited you this day. I've given you everything you need to go up top when you die. More than most sinners like you get these days.
Thomas: You...You can't be...Je-?

Panel 2: A shot from Thomas' perspective, looking up at Christ.

Christ: Why can't I be?

Panel 3: A shot of Thomas looking at the blood he wiped from his throat.

Panel 4: A shot of Christ leaving the room and heading for the hallway, Thomas getting up from the ground, using the wall as leverage.

Thomas: Why...are you bleed'n? You...hurt or something?

Panel 5: A shot from behind Christ as he looks over his left shoulder.

Christ: My cuts are a little sensitive, they bleed when I get angry. Thank God that doesn't happen much.

Pg20
Panel 1: A full bodied shot of Thomas standing in his filthy living room, looking totally waisted.

Thomas: ...Jesus Christ. What the fuck just happened?

Panel 2: A shot of Christ's biker helmet in his hands. Focus of the panel is the image on it, which is a recreation of a Catholic painting of him.

Christ: Lot a work to do...But it must be done, Father. Got to prove to you people need us active in their lives...

Panel 4: A shot of Christ as he is about to put his helmet on.

Christ. The time may come when we might not have the control we'd like. If the world continues to be littered with sinners like that, then Hell will defiantly take over.
